v0.1.2 patch notes


This is a bugfix/UI patch. I haven't had time to sit down for some proper playtesting for balance changes, but I want these fixes out sooner rather than later.

UI

  • The camera no longer moves when targeting an ability - should make targeting less jerky
  • Finesse skills (claws and stinger) now mention that fact in their description.

Gameplay

  • Eat corpse has been heavily nerfed: 15% of max HP and SP -> 5-10 HP and SP (randomly rolled independently). The intent is to nudge the player towards taking sustain abilities, but I don't know yet if this is too heavy handed/heavy handed enough. 
  • Player base HP gain raised from 4 -> 5 per level
  • Certain enemies with gun-based abilities can now use them point-blank, but have a slightly lower chance to use the abilities overall.
  • Boss telegraph attacks not longer persist after the boss is dead
  • Bosses no longer leave corpses (on the off chance one of them hides the staircase)
  • Increased pounce range by 1. 
  • Adrenaline should now work on all types of kills (previously was not working with psi storm, psionic orb, and the various damage-when-hit abilities).
  • Fix an issue where psi storm was doing two ticks of damage on its first turn (and running out the duration faster)

On Radar

  • Got a report of picking a level reward also disabling the ability on that hotkey - could not reproduce but reordered some lines to hopefully guard against it. 
  • Ranged attacks probably need a buff to be worthwhile, or more of the ability pool. 
  • There's a pretty degenerate build possible with Electric Discharge.
  • Vampirism, Cryokinesis, Pyrokinesis drain SP very quickly for minimal benefit.
